PROSTATE CANCER

 Prostate cancer is a very common type of cancer among men. In the US, it affects about one in every six men. The diagnosis of the prostate cancer can be very scary. Some times, not only because of the life threatening experience but also because of the treatment, this can cause side effects i.e. bladder control problem and erectile dysfunction.
Prostate cancer is a cancer of small walnut shaped gland in males. This gland produces a seminal fluid, which nourishes and transports the sperm. Usually, prostate cancer develops very slowly. Initially it remains confined to the prostate gland, where it may not cause any serious harm. There are other types of prostate cancer that grow slowly and may need only minimal or no treatment but the other aggressive type may spread very quickly.
If the prostate cancer is detected at an early stage, you will have a better chance of successful treatment. The majority of the men are attentive towards the signs and symptoms of the prostate cancer, but it is very important to know what to look for and which signs may point to an underlying prostate cancer.
Symptoms of Prostate Cancer
Anyone, who is concerned about themselves or a loved one, developing a prostate cancer, should know its basic symptoms. Prostate cancer does not develop any noticeable changes in the early stage of the cancer. In so many cases, the prostate cancer does not develop any symptoms until the cancer spreads beyond the prostate or until it reaches to the advanced stage.
The early symptoms of the prostate cancer include urinary problems. It causes when the prostate tumor presses on the bladder or on the tube, which carries urine from the bladder.
However, the urinary symptoms causes due to the benign prostate problems such as enlarged prostate or the prostate infections. Majority of the prostate cancer cases have urinary problems as the initial symptom. When the urinary signs and symptoms occur, it can include.
1. Trouble while urinating
2. While, starting the urinating
3. While, stopping the urinating
4. Decreased force in the stream of urine
5. Burning or pain during urination 
In addition, the cancer in your prostate or the nearby area can cause the following symptoms.
1.    Blood in your semen
2.    Blood in your urine
Prostate cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes in your pelvis may cause the following symptoms.
1. Discomfort in the pelvic area
2. Swelling in your legs 
Advanced prostate cancer- which when spread to your bones too, it can cause the following symptoms.
1.    Constant bone pain, which never goes
2.    Bone fractures
3.    Compression of the spine
4.    Difficulty in having an erection
5.    Painful ejaculation 
Other symptoms that may occur in the prostate cancer are weight loss, particularly in an elderly man above the age of 40 years.
